When I see hundreds of post regarding DUTA election, I always think really we have such type of battle as it's on media, among colleague and senior faculty members!
I'm a mathematician, but anyone can count the probability to win of one DUTA Executive contestant where for 15 seats, only 20 are fighting .. that means there is no competition among them because everyone knows who are the five who will not win.
Now the main focus of election is DUTA President in which we all know there are three main contestant Sanjay Kumar, V.S. Negi and Nandita Narayan.
I think that people are squandering their energy to say loud their voices for it. We teachers are one but politics has divided us in Four and Five pieces where every piece is fighting for its part of bread not for full bread.
I think every teacher either permanent of ad-hoc/guest is capable to live his/her live better in all context but we are shrinking each-other's thoughts so that no one can think beyond this.
I found that many persons have been working for 20+ years in ad-hoc which makes everyone think that his/her academic graph should be more than all, but truth is different, he/she didn't think beyond it because people are guiding them not to think beyond it.
I also found many teachers who are working greatly for their academic career as well as life, but the number in this context is 2-3 % which is really very less for being in higher education.
I wish that this election will choose a great leader for all of us who will fight for teachers problems but "first we teacher have to fight ourselves". The election should not always against the system because always against is also bad, rather to understand it and make suggestions and changes for it.
with hope of less politics but more leadership.
